Lady Tigers Open the Season with 5 Inning Victory

The Canton Lady Tigers beat Clopton 10-0 in five innings on Tuesday after a seven-run explosion in the third inning.

The Lady Tigers Varsity scored in the third on an RBI single by Bri Caldwell, an RBI single by Jensen Crenshaw, an RBI single by Allison Phillips , a three-run double by Olivia Jarvis, and a groundout by Saylor Collins .

Crenshaw racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Canton.

Jarvis kept Clopton off the scoreboard for all five innings she was on the rubber. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out four.

McCrory took the loss for Clopton. She allowed 10 runs in four innings, walked none and struck out none.

The Lady Tigers built upon their lead with three runs in the fourth. Crenshaw kicked things off with a double, scoring Emma McKinstry. That was followed up by Phillips 's double, plating Caldwell and Crenshaw.
