FINAL FOUR: Lady Tigers Return to State

The Canton Lady Tigers jumped out to an early lead on Pilot Grove and captured an 8-1 victory on Saturday to advance to the MSHSSA Class 1 State Softball Final Four for the second consecutive year.
An RBI triple by Jensen Crenshaw and an RBI single by Allison Phillips during the first inning and an RBI single by Phillips in the second inning helped the Lady Tigers put some runs on the board early.
Crenshaw put herself in scoring position often with two extra-base hits.
Olivia Jarvis struck out eight, paving the way for the win. Jarvis allowed no earned runs, four hits and one walk over seven innings.
Phillips, Crenshaw, and Katie Gaus helped lead the offense. They combined for eight hits and five RBIs.
The Canton Lady Tigers Varsity pushed across two runs in both the third inning and the fifth. In the third, the Lady Tigers scored on a single by Laken Hugenberg.
The Canton Lady Tigers Varsity piled on two more runs in the top of the fifth. Gaus' double got things going, scoring Saylor Collins .
